Wednesday 5/19/10
Today was my most productive day so far. I went into school at the normal time and went straight into the silkscreening darkroom to check out how many screens we had. To my surprise the entire cabinet was filled. This was an awesome surprise. It turns out that my teacher had after-school detention duty and had all the kids coat screens. I then set up my first three color design on the printer. This takes a while because you have to carefully make sure that each color is aligned with the other colors even though they are different screens. I tested the print and it came out perfectly. I then printed it onto three t-shirts. After I cleaned up from this, I set up my next two color design. I lined up the colors and then tested it and then printed a few t-shirts with this design on it. I tried to print another design that was only one color, but the screen was messed up and needs to be re-burned. I then printed another three color design onto vellum and burnt all three screens needed to make that shirt tommorow. I also printed two, other designs onto vellum and burnt those screens as well. I finished the day by coating a few more screens to keep the cabinet full because that is such a nice sight.
